This colorful, balloon-shaped orb of blown glass is an Art Glass Hummingbird Feeder. Designed to entice hummingbirds to stop and sip, it doubles as a garden ornament while awaiting migratory hummingbird visits. Handcrafted by American glassblower Jennifer Nauck, this Art Glass Hummingbird Feeder can stand alone or be suspended from its included jute loop. Because each Art Glass Hummingbird Feeder is individually blown, no two will be precisely the same. 5"dia.
Museum Provenance
Glass artisans from across the country have exhibited numerous items from birdfeeders and bowls to goblets and globe ornaments at Art Glass exhibitions housed at our Renwick Gallery, Smithsonian American Art Museum. Nectar plants, attractive to butterflies as well as hummingbirds, are part of the Smithsonian’s Butterfly Habitat Garden.
Every Smithsonian purchase will arrive with a museum provenance card explaining how it is adapted from or inspired by an object or objects in our collection.
