This has to be seen to be fully appreciated. Every time I wear it, I can count on several people "oohing & ahhing" & asking where I bought it. If I have the time, I explain where it was made & the meaning of the colors. I do have to be careful about the beads when putting my seat belt on & off in the car.

I was torn between the blue or the white version and ended up buying the blue and have been very happy with the colors. The length and design make it very versatile and I have enjoyed trying different ways to wear it. Unfortunately, some of the beads began to fall off and I couldn't get them back on at al so I tied off the ends of the heavily beaded strands.

I actually bought this beautiful beaded scarf in order to support both the Smithsonian and the Barabaig of Tanzania, because I lived in Tanzania for a year. I also had seen a similar item elsewhere and had looked for it in vain. I was thrilled to discover this one and know that it will go well with certain clothes that I wear -- dark brown dress with jacket from Indonesia that has blue in it. I love the combination of dark blue and dark brown. This fills the bill. This is an unusual style, but if you like to wear scarves, you will like to wear this beaded one.
