It took only a minute for the party to begin when the crackers appeared. Folks who were shy, though related, examined their horns with awe and wonderment and then the concert began led by a twelve year old beginning trumpet player who was very strict in his directions. The St. Nicholas ice cream figures melted on our plates as renditions of Jingle Bells starring the number three players echoed about the dining room. Thirteen was a goodly number for our band...more than one box of crackers for sure and some who could handle two horns...especially if one was a number eight.
So ages twelwe through eigthy one marched about the table , crowns in place

These were a fun addition to our Christmas dinner. We were able to play along with the music for the most part. Some tunes were different than we expected, possibly due to the difference in the way our two countries sing them. My only problem was that a couple of the whistles were not tuned properly..eg....the "B" and high "C" notes were identical.
