This Fleece Multi-Wrap recalls capes in the costume collection of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History, Behring Center. Our costume collection contains over 30,000 garments and accessories reflecting the social, technological and economic changes affecting American dress from the 17th century to the present. Included are objects used in the manufacture of clothing as well as items related to the sale of clothing. Holdings include a large assortment of women’s clothing, some by influential 20th century designers, clothing of presidents and first ladies, wedding gowns, military uniforms and Halloween costumes.

I tried on the wrap and immediately repacked and returned it. I almost did not take it out of the bag because the color was washed out and not the rich, deep red I had hoped for. On closer inspecition, the fabric and construction were poor quality and it made me wish I had listened more closely to the reviews of other purchasers.

I bought this red wrap in December 2011 and have worn it several times when the weather has been in the 40s and 50s. I like its softness and its bright color which adds cheer to gray, gloomy days. I love its big-collar style, its length (over the hips; I am 5'7" tall), and its softness. The broad, draping collar lies over the wearer's upper arms, but the wrap is sleeveless so it is not warm enough for Northern winters. However, it layers well over a turtleneck and sweater to increase its warmth. In one instance a wool sweater I wore under it picked up bits of red fleece where the sweater was pilling, but I was able to remove the pinkish pills easily. Though I feel it is a bit expensive for a poly fleece wrap it is well-cut and well-sewn and made in USA! I am very happy with the purchase and will keep it.

This is perfect for our North Carolina winters. Lightweight, but warm. I love it. Does it come is other colors - this is a product I would love to have in multiples!! It is just easy to wear over jeans or for a more formal occasion!

I live in the Northeast US where it gets *very* cold. I usually wear this wrap on days when the temperature is above 35-40℉. To add warmth I wear it with layers (LS turtle and sweater most often or, for greater warmth, even a jacket or vest) underneath. I use a decorative brooch to close the wrap if need be. In other words, this wrap is versatile and figure-flaw forgiving! What I love most is its softness, stylish cut and bright color which raise my spirits on cold, gloomy days. The only downside is its price which I feel is high for polyester fleece.
