Museum Provenance
This 24k Gold Leaf Candy Dish is inspired by an object in the ceramics and glass collections of our National Museum of American History, Behring Center. The collection houses specimens of c.1500 BC glass, moving forward through time, with bowls, bottles and vases illustrating the historical development of glass. Examples of both artistic and functional glass and ceramics are included. An extensive collection of American glass from 18th-century utilitarian glassware to 20th-century Tiffany glass as well as Italian millefiori glassware is represented.
