Lifelike leaves of the gingko, an ancient tree native to China, grace this unusual Gingko Jewelry collection. Designed by American artist Michael Michaud and made entirely by hand in his Connecticut studio, Michael’s muse is nature’s flora. Using the ancient lost wax casting method, he creates an exact model of the gingko leaf he has gathered during his global travels. The 2"l. Gingko Necklace pendant, the leaves on the Gingko Wrap Bracelet; and the leaf dangles of the Gingko Pierced Earrings are cast in hand patinaed bronze. The Gingko Necklace is strung with 12mm beads of horn beads and is secured with a brass lobster claw clasp.

I bought it to match a set of gold plated gingko earrings I bought for her several years ago. To be fair, I did not read the description well enough. I thought these were gold plated. On the other hand they look thick and clumsy and not at all elegant.

I thought long and hard before buying these pieces and finally 'bit the bullet' and did it! I am so happy that I did. I have received numerous compliments and I am overwhelmed by the artistmanship; very well done. These are very beautiful pieces. I really feel 'elegant' when I wear them. My only complaint is that the clasp on the necklace is very hard to maneuver without help. Other than that, which can be fixed by a jeweler, I highly recommend these pieces to those who truly love wearing 'art.'
