Earthy sophistication is interpreted in spheres, ovals, cylinders and natural chunks of color-enhanced polished howlite. Centered by a three-strand swag accented by a stunning howlite drop, the necklace is hand-knotted on waxed cotton strings. The leather cuff bracelet is beaded with various-size stones. Three strands dangle on the pierced chip earrings. Gemstone sizes, 5mm to 30mm. Howlite button closure. Matching bracelet and earrings available.

Museum Provenance
Named for Henry How the Canadian mineralogist who first described it, Howlite is a colorless mineral often dyed to resemble other stones, especially turquoise. Because of its stability, howlite is a safer choice than non-sterling set turquoise because it is less likely to chip or break. More than 2,500 minerals are exhibited at our Janet Annenberg Hooker Hall of Geology, Gems and Minerals.
