Like the bells along California’s historic El Camino Real highway, this Medium Rustic Forged Bell is made of iron. Patinaed with a weathered finish of genuine brass, this makes an intriguing decorative note to casual décor. Or ring as needed to gain attention, fill a conversational gap, or call everyone to dinner. The wooden clapper creates a surprisingly mellow tone. Aged leather loop handle.  14"h. x 4"dia.

Museum Provenance

We know it when we see it. It’s casually rustic, earthen-hued and sun-baked. It’s often accented with turquoise—weaving its way in geometric textiles or inlaying sterling silver jewelry. It’s even the mustang herds that still run free in the American southwest. These products emulate and embrace the style we curate, piece by piece, in the collections of our National Museums of the American Indian and American History.

Every Smithsonian purchase will arrive with a museum provenance card explaining how it is adapted from or inspired by an object or objects in our collection.
