I researched extensively after I broke a coaster which had adhered to back of my wine glass. My wife wasn't too pleased since it was a quartz crystal coaster that had been irradiated so the exterior turned an azule blue with crystals within the interior.

I tried to find the same, but alas couldn't. These coasters however looked great, they appeared like soapstone, serpentine or green variated onxy. They are called "Tavertine" (stone) and frankly I don't know what that is, but it is like green onxy and lovely. Each coaster is cushioned and as unique as the stone itself. My wife was very pleased (it was a surprise) and so was I. Came in an original handmade box from Pakistan that was worthg reusing for something in and of itself.

Excellent value, you'll be pleased.

These are a beautiful predominately soft green natural stone and carved in a simple design that would fit most decors. I chose them for their color, but others have complained they are not all beiges. I love natural stone and have had no problems with it, but people should be aware that it can shatter if dropped on hard surfaces.

We bought these quite a few years ago during a trip to D.C. We are down to only 3 left. Here is what happens: A glass sweats, and the coaster gets suctioned to the bottom of the glass. You pick up the glass, the coaster falls off after you've lifted the glass up off of the table, falls, hits the table, and breaks.

Otherwise, they're great. Good looking, and unique. Just have to be careful when you lift up your glass!
