Last year I bought the cupcake plates for my daughter and her family. I bought the platter to go with the serving plates because the Smithsonian store had a sale. The plate is glass and thick enough to be sturdy. Probably too heavy for a child to carry it.

I was pleased to see that it looks as nice in person as in catalog as I purchased for gift giving and one for myself. It is quite large (16x20) so should hold plenty of goodies, although I am wondering just how baked goods will look on this tray as it is slightly concave. Cake will do fine but cupcakes etc. might be a very slight challenge. Anyone should be delighted to keep this out all year long for display.

I orginally purchased this cupcake platter to give as a gift this holiday season. When I opened the box and saw the quality and uniqueness, I decided I could not live without this being in my home. This cupcake platter has become a wonderful addition to my 'special occasion/celebration' serving pieces. This platter makes any occasion a party. When not being used for serving, it then becomes decorative piece.
