I purchased this for my 14 year old nephew. He was fascinated by it and will keep it on his desk. It is finely tuned, and would not make a good toy for a younger child.

Bought one for a grandsons Christmas. We enjoyed it and may buy more. The sparks were excellent, especially in the dark! And while worried they might catch something on fire, we couldn't even with effort. Our only complaint is that it doesn't run very long on a wind. This reminds us of some toys we had back in the 1950's. Great fun. We would recommend it for anyone, any age. Baby boomers included.

We gave this toy as a gift to a four year old little boy who is delighted with it! He plays with it under adult supervision but is able to wind it up all by himself and is very proud that he can operate it alone. The sparkles are tops!!
