P51C Mustang "Kitten" Executive Model 1/24

This hand-carved mahogany wood scale P51C Mustang "Kitten" 1/24 is signed by Charles McGee. The P51C Mustang was affectionately nicknamed "Kitten" and piloted by Tuskegee Airman, Col. Charles E. McGee. McGee flew 409 combat missions. He is credited with shooting down 110 enemy aircraft without losing a single American bomber under his escort. Although McGee was segregated during his stellar military career, his exemplary performance and flight record culminated in the integration of African American pilots and inspired social changes and equality in the Air Force. Intended for ages 14 and up.  16"l. x 18.5"w. x 13.5"h.
