Museum Provenance

The U.S. Army’s Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk Helicopter is a four-bladed, twin-engine utility military aircraft. The UH-60 Black Hawk began service as an army aircraft in 1979 and has flown combat missions during conflicts in Grenada, Panama, Iraq, Somalia, the Balkans and Afghanistan. Military aircraft, including older Sikorsky military helicopters are displayed in our National Air and Space Museum Stephen F. Udvar-Hazy Center.

Every Smithsonian purchase will arrive with a museum provenance card explaining how it is adapted from or inspired by an object or objects in our collection.
