I purchased this toy for my grandson's upcoming third birthday. It is cute and colorful and an impressive size. He is enthralled with stories and books about rocket ships and space, and will have a "Blast Off" party. I expect this gift will be one of his favorites - and will allow him to create his own space adventures. I haven't tested the blast off sounds, so I cannot comment on the volume.
